Dinkes Strengthens Examinations to Prevent Spread of Acturus Variants

The Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) is strengthening genome sequencing examinations for all positive cases of Covid-19 from public and private health laboratories (labkesmas).

Epidemiology and Immunization Surveillance Section, Ngabila Salama urges residents not to panic and boost immunity by adopting a healthy lifestyle and immunization to prevent exposure to the new variant of Covid-19, namely Acturus.

"Preventing getting sick is still better with the discipline of wearing a mask, especially if you are sick or are near sick people. Cases of new variants of Covid-19 have increased in health centers and the level of transmission in the main family," she expressed, Monday (4/17).

She explained residents who had suspected symptoms of Covid-19 or had close contact with positive patients immediately carried out PCR tests at all health centers in Jakarta free of charge during working hours.

"While antigen tests can be done for free 24 hours at district health centers throughout Jakarta," she explained.

He went on to say that two Covid-19 patients with the new Acturus variant were currently undergoing medical treatment at the hospital. However, they did not experience symptoms of red eye like other patients.

They only have a strong cough and pneumonia (pneumonia).

"We're currently processing a genome sequencing examination to ensure that the patient is exposed to Acturus," he stated
